“I am a New Zealand-German archaeologist, artist, and author; an MPhil in Archaeology (University of Cambridge); and a PhD candidate in Islamic Archaeology (University of Bonn). I work worldwide as an academic, commercial, and media archaeologist and write, both academically and creatively. My publications range from articles on Second World War conflict archaeology to science fiction novellas. As a media archaeologist I have featured on documentaries covering history, anthropology, archaeology, and even cryptozoology and mythology. I believe academic voices are crucial in the media, not only as foils to sensationalism, but to use our experience to open our fields to everyone.”
