Dr Meredith Brand, Egyptologist & Archaeologist
Meredith is an American Egyptologist & Archaeologist currently working in Egypt. She is the assistant director of the Wadi el-Hudi Expedition, a project that focuses on amethyst mining sites and settlements in the Eastern Desert, dating to the early Middle Kingdom and the Greco-Roman period. Meredith earned her PhD candidate from the University of Toronto’s Department of Near and Middle Eastern Civilizations, her dissertation Title: Socio-Economic Context of Votive Pottery Production at Abydos, Egypt (Middle Kingdom –Late Period): Refining Theories and Methods for Metric Analysis of Formal Variability. She also worked as a Ceramicist for numerous projects in Egypt, including Abydos, Karnak, Elephantine and Giza Plateau.
