Kate Garner, Singer Songwriter & Song Historian

A singer songwriter, pianist with a passion and knowledge for old songs. I write songs inspired by them, including music set to poetry by William Morris and Charles Dickens. My particular interests lie in the music I was bought up on, folk songs, Victorian parlour songs, Music Hall, cockney singalongs around the piano, Mrs Mills, Winifred Atwell, piano rolls, gramophones and old sheet music. In a nutshell, music that connects people and communities performing both on stage and in the home. My dad was Chas from Chas and Dave and my Nanna Daisy Hodges was a pianist admired by many in the business, including Lional Bart.
