Dr Siobhan Osgood, Architectural Historian

“I am an architectural historian specialising in railway architecture, engineering and building materials from the nineteenth-century. I am passionate about the impact of the Industrial Revolution on architectural production, particularly mass-manufacturing, transport infrastructure and the development of cities. I love researching architects and engineers, standing in front of buildings and trying to uncover their history: who, what, when and how did this building come to be? I love giving public lectures and interviews, meeting people and raising awareness for the importance of architectural history. I also love knitting!”
