Dr Sarah Duignan, Medical Anthropologist

“I am a medical anthropologist and am very passionate about knowledge translation and public communication. I created, produce, and host a food podcast that explores the past and present experiences of food as they relate to culture, identity, and belonging. I also teach about bioarchaeological and biocultural approaches to food and nutrition, and love exploring how our modern lives and food trends are understood using historic and evolutionary perspectives. I am currently a postdoc researcher that is co-creating knowledge and tools with Indigenous communities to tackle water insecurity and how it is impacting physical, spiritual, cultural, and mental health, particularly for mothers and youth.”
