Dr Kimberley Watt, Archaeologist & Egyptologist

Kimberley Watt is a British and French archaeologist who has worked both in Egypt and in Sudan. She finished her PhD in Egyptology at the University of Cambridge where she studies the workings of the state, aka the administration and especially who made what happen. She focuses on the Eighteenth Dynasty but is interested in the economy of ancient Egypt as a whole. Her PhD research was on the monumental architecture of the New Kingdom and the officials who managed their construction. In her spare time she examines stone and faience objects from her excavations in Egypt. Besides English & French being her mother tongue, Kimberely also speaks several other languages in various degrees, Dutch, Egyptian, Arabic, German, Latin, Akkadian & Ancient Greek.
