Dr Flora Anthony, Egyptologist
Dr. Flora Brooke Anthony is an Egyptologist and Art Historian at Kennesaw State University. She holds graduate degrees from Emory University (Ph.D.) and the Institute of Egyptian Art and Archaeology at the University of Memphis (M.A.). Her research interests include Ancient Egyptian materials (especially faience), Ancient Egyptian magic, forgeries and authenticity, Late Bronze Age international relations, and expressions of identity. Many of these themes are explored in her book, Foreigners in Ancient Egypt, Theban Tomb Paintings from the Early Eighteenth Dynasty (Bloomsbury Academic, 2016). Outside of class Dr. Anthony can be watched on the Science Channel’s Egypt’s Unexplained Files (2019) and The Smithsonian Channel’s Pyramids, the Secret Builders (a series forthcoming shortly).
