Past Preservers is seeking engaging on-camera Experts (Writer & Presenter) for our ongoing series of cinematic YouTube documentaries. We are looking for experts to pitch, write, and present their own material, controlling the narrative and delving into their specialist knowledge for an audience exceeding two million subscribers!
We are opening the floor to pitches for future editions of “The Complete History” series. If you have a deep specialization in a major historical era, civilization, or world-changing event, we want to hear your ideas.
📋 General Role Details
- Location: TBC
- Shoot Date: Ongoing / To be scheduled based on project commission
- Project Pay: £3,000 per project (less agency commission)
- Shoot Duration: A single, extended ~4-hour studio session (allowing for breaks) to capture 2.5–3 hours of uncut dialogue.
- Final Product: A highly edited, cinematic documentary running around 2 hours long, blending your on-camera presentation with video footage, photographs, animations, maps, and artwork.
✍️ Your Responsibilities
The chosen experts must be dynamic presenters who prioritize audience engagement, clarity, and strong narrative drive.
- Preparation: You will have approximately 6 weeks to thoroughly research, prepare, and write your own dialogue in advance.
- Structure: We will provide a foundational framework/timeline structure, which you will then flesh out with deep insights, human stories, and expert analysis.
💡 Pitch Your “Complete History” Topic
We are looking for comprehensive, “History 101” style pitches that give viewers a clear, cohesive, chronological narrative of a grand historical subject in a single viewing experience.
Our previous projects have covered massive, sweeping narratives such as The Complete History of Ancient Egypt, The Roman Empire, Medieval Europe, and The Ancient World.
We want to know what comprehensive, big-picture narrative you can bring to life.
