Animals at War Project

About the Project! 
We are working on a project with the working title of “Animals at War”. It will (episodically) cover everything from ancient use of war elephants to the modern day Navy dolphin program and dogs deployed with Special Forces in Afghanistan. However we are particularly looking for experts relating to the ancient world including the following-

  • – Ramses II and his pet lions referred to as the Slayer of his Foes
  • – Kandula, The Warrior Elephant (from the Mahavamsa)
  • – Peritas, Alexander the Great’s dog
  • – The Bestiarii or Venationes in the Roman coliseum

However if you have experience in any aspect of Animals at War, please do apply! 

Shooting will take place once restrictions on travel etc related to the Corona Virus are lifted.
